    This is a rare April 1931 souvenir program from the
    24th Annual Cap and Gown Club production, "WHAT'S UP" at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ..... Among the ensemble was GENE KELLY (billed as Eugene Kelly), who enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh in 1931 and graduated in 1933. He became involved in the University's Cap and Gown Club, which staged musical productions with all-male casts and after graduating, continued to be active with the Cap and Gown Club, serving as the director from 1934 to 1938 while completing his studies at the University of Pittsburgh Law School. Gene Kelly is pictured in the back row of the group photo (third scanned image) and is credited in the musical numbers "Hot Steps", "Dancing Along" and "Happy Rhythm" ..... CREDITS: Book by G. CONDITION: With the exception of the start of a split at the top seam and minor edge wear, this rare program is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
